Some Like it Hot and The Great Gatsby are similar and
different in many ways. Many of the characters have clear similarities with
each other. Junior, Joe’s rich persona, is similar with Gatsby because they are
both using their wealth to impress the girl of their dreams. Daphne is similar
to Nick because they are both sidekicks to the main characters in the stories.
Sugar is similar to Daisy because they both are interested in rich men. Osgood
is similar to Tom due to the fact that they both have a lot of money without
doing a lot of work. They were different because the characters in Some Like it Hot are more humorous that
in The Great Gatsby. In Some Like it Hot there is a love
triangle similar to the one in The Great
Gatsby. The themes are different because one is more about crime and morality
while the other is more about love, romance, and marriage. There is also more
of a focus on social class in The Great
Gatsby than in Some Like it Hot.
